Geoffrey A. Cox

                                                Who is Geoffrey A. Cox?
Geoffrey A. Cox is a San Diego based actor, director, and playwright. He is delighted to be directing the first annual pride production The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told by Paul Rudnick in conjunction with the Rainbow Action Group.  July will mark Looking Glass Theatre as a proud cultural arts partner of the GLBT San Diego Pride Month.

He can currently be seen in San Diego’s Opera Aida in April. He will also be reprising his role of Bill Sykes in Oliver! in May for Such N’ Such Productions. He was last seen on stage last summer with Starlight Theatre’s Beauty & the Beast as Monsieur D’Arque.

Favorite Acting credits include: Cat in Honk! , Van Helsing in Dracula: the Musical? , Fred/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate, Thomas Jefferson in 1776, and Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park.

Mr. Cox’s last directorial project was this season’s opener for Looking Glass Theatre’s The Shape of Things by Neil Labute. The project we are pleased to say received rave reviews and started our season off with a bang!

“Looking Glass Theatre's The Shape of Things is powerful. Each of the four principals is totally their character from the moment they enter stage right until their final exit stage left. Playwright LaBute's language requires your close attention. Every word has meaning. Director Geoffrey A. Cox has paid attention to the idiosyncratic behaviorism of each character.” – Robert Hitchcox for NEWS BLAZE

Select directing credits include: The Music Man, Little Women, and Top of 16.

Mr. Cox has also received praise for his original plays including his recent drama

Open Mines which received much press for its moving emotional journey

“It (Open Mines) has the power to move you in ways you may not have experienced before” – Trailblazer of Plainview Texas

He is also an accredited writer for the Walt Disney Company that purchased his unique musical entitled Once Upon a Dream based loosely on the life of Walt Disney himself.

He also takes great joy in teaching children the joys of theatre. During the summer he has worked with No Limits Theatre, a truly rewarding theatre program for deaf and hard of hearing children based out of Los Angeles. He also just completed a small role in the film Well Done with Blue Gradient Films.

Mr. Cox made his Looking Glass Theatre debut in spring 2006 as the suave and charming Beverly Carlton in The Man Who Came to Dinner. He then went on to direct, write and perform in Thanksgiving Extravaganza II: Turkey Talk! a whimsical look at the American tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving. Last spring he played the most evil Bill Sykes in our production of Oliver! He has since joined the Looking Glass Theatre Board of Directors and is proud to call Looking Glass his home base.
